SIGHT AND HEARING CASES:

Each year, the WVLSCF funds surgery cases, which individuals are unable to afford and are beyond the financial means of the local clubs. This includes:

  • Cataract Surgery
  • Glaucoma Surgery
  • Crossed Eyes
  • Other sight related services, as needed

Currently the Foundation is in partnership with the West Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology, WVU Eye Institute and doctors and hospitals throughout the State of West Virginia to provide surgeries.

tillman photoOcularist Walter T. Tillman, B.C.O., F.A.S.O., WVU Eye Instute has agreed to "once each year" provide one FREE artificial eye to any person approved by the WVLSCF service coordinator "first come first serve".

He has further agreed to provide additonal "eyes" at 1/2 the regular fee of $2,300 to any Lions Club that sponsors an applicant and is willing to provide transporation to the applicant and assist them in raising the fee.

The Foundation would be limited to the one free artificial eye, but not the 1/2 price agreement.
